CodeGarageAfrica held its 1000 Lines of Code initiative, in partnership with Oyo State Government, 386konsult, and Zeeh Africa, has successfully trained and certified 1000 senior secondary school students from 110 schools across the 11 local governments of Ibadan. This transformative 5-day training program, held at the International Conference Center in Ibadan, is a significant milestone in nurturing future tech talents and promoting digital literacy in the region.
The intensive training program, designed to equip students with essential coding and non code tech skills, like UIUX designs, Front-end Development, and Frontend Development Included hands-on sessions, interactive workshops, and real-world project applications. Industry experts and experienced trainers guided the students through a comprehensive curriculum, covering topics such as web development, mobile app creation, and the fundamentals of software engineering.

The grand finale of the event was marked by a certification ceremony, where all 1000 participants received their well-deserved certificates, symbolising their hard work, commitment, and newly acquired tech skills. The ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries, including representatives from the Oyo State Government and partnering organisations, who commended the students for their remarkable achievements.
“The success of this training program is a collaborative effort, and we are grateful for the support from our partners and the local government,” said Victor Funmipe, a renowned cybersecurity expert and one of the key organisers of the event. “We believe that by investing in the education and skills development of our youth, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future.”
“We would like for the 1000 Lines of Code initiative to continue, I mean we should do this again in another state in Nigeria,” said David Adeleke, CEO and Co-founder of Zeeh Africa. We are not sure what State it would be, but we are with CodeGarageAfrica every step of the way.”
The CodeGarageAfrica initiative is part of a broader mission to promote STEM education and create opportunities for young Nigerians in the tech industry.
