Zion Rufus, Senior Brand and Content Strategist at Livespot360, has described her appointment as Vice President, Communications & Events of the Association of Digital Marketing Professionals (ADMARP) as a moment of deep gratitude, reflection, and responsibility, one she credits to faith, mentorship, and years of disciplined storytelling.
Speaking on her inclusion in ADMARP’s newly appointed Executive Council for the 2026 administrative year, Rufus said the appointment represents more than a professional milestone, calling it “a reminder that consistency, clarity of purpose, and the people who guide you along the way truly matter.”
“To God, first, and to my mentors who stretched me, corrected me, and believed in my voice long before the titles came,” she said. “This role is not just about visibility; it’s about stewardship.”
An award-winning communications professional, Rufus currently serves as Senior Brand and Content Strategist at Livespot360, Nigeria’s leading 360-degree creative solutions powerhouse. Her career spans marketing communications, trade journalism, public relations, and digital strategy, with a reputation for building brand affinity through emotionally intelligent storytelling and insight-led content systems.
Rufus is widely respected for her ability to simplify complex business and industry narratives without losing nuance or depth. That skill has shaped work for more than 500 brands and organisations, including the United Nations SDG Book Club (Namibia Chapter), as well as leading corporate and cultural institutions across Africa.
Her professional journey is rooted in journalism, a foundation that continues to inform her approach to communications leadership. She previously served as Associate Editor at Marketing Edge Publications, Creative Director for MMA2’s Gate B2 Airport Magazine, and notably, Digital Content Officer at ADMARP, making her return to the Association’s leadership both symbolic and strategic.
That blend of industry experience and editorial discipline has earned her multiple recognitions, including Marketing Journalist of the Year at the Nigerian Marketing Awards and Brand Journalist of the Year by the Advertisers Association of Nigeria.
Reflecting on her new role, Rufus emphasised collaboration and long-term thinking over quick wins. “Communications is not noise; it’s alignment,” she noted. “For ADMARP, the goal is to build trust, sharpen our voice, and ensure our members see themselves, and their standards, reflected in how we show up to the world.”
Outside her corporate work, Rufus is also a published author, with titles including Diary of a Lagos Girl and Diary of a Career Gold-Digger, books praised for their honesty, wit, and cultural insight. The same narrative sensitivity that defines her writing, she says, will shape her approach to leading ADMARP’s communications.
Rufus joins a five-member Executive Council led by President Elizabeth Anuoluwapo Ogunseye, Manager, Product & Lifestyle Marketing at Sterling Bank. The Council was appointed following an open community recommendation process and a rigorous review by the outgoing Executive Council.
Outgoing ADMARP President Stanislaus Martins described the incoming leadership as “the very best of Nigeria’s digital marketing talent,” expressing confidence in their ability to steer the Association into a new era of innovation, professional development, and industry impact.
As ADMARP prepares for its 2026 tenure, Rufus says her focus is intentional storytelling, collaborative leadership, and communication that truly serves brands and their varying audiences.
“This is about honouring the work that has come before and building what comes next, together,” she said
